David Colman, Principal, is responsible for asset management at ROCO. Prior to joining ROCO, David worked for BlackRock in New York City where he began as an Analyst in BlackRock’s Proprietary Alpha Strategies Group. David’s most recent role at BlackRock was working on the fixed income trading floor as a Product Strategist providing a link between the investment teams and client groups. A native of Bloomfield Hills, MI, David earned a BBA from the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business in 2010.
Michael Colman, Principal, is responsible for sourcing all acquisitions for ROCO. Prior to ROCO, Michael was responsible for all new acquisitions at Edward Rose & Sons, a large Real Estate firm headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, MI. During his time at Edward Rose & Sons, Michael oversaw the acquisition of over 100 acres of new land and $75 million of development. A native of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Michael earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin in 2008.
Tyler Ross, Principal, is responsible for financial analysis and financing for ROCO Real Estate. Prior to ROCO, Tyler worked at Edward Rose & Sons. Tyler’s family founded Edward Rose & Sons in 1921 and has grown the firm to its present ownership of more than 57,000 apartment units, with more added annually. A native of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Tyler earned a BA from the University of Chicago in 2008 and a JD from Fordham Law School in 2011.
Warren Frenkel joined ROCO Real Estate in mid-2013 as the Chief Financial Officer. In that capacity, Warren is responsible for financial planning & reporting, record-keeping, data analysis, and accounting. Prior to joining ROCO, Warren was a Business Analyst at Quicken Loan and had been mentored by Jay Alix, founder of the corporate restructuring firm AlixPartners. A Michigan native, Warren earned a BS in Finance at Michigan State University’s – Eli Broad School of Business in 2013.
Kevin Roach joined ROCO Real Estate in late 2013 as the Director of Debt Financing. In that capacity, Kevin is responsible for the debt financing of acquisitions and existing projects in the ROCO portfolio. Prior to joining ROCO, Kevin underwrote in excess of $130 million in multifamily mortgages for a top ten FHA mortgage lender. A native of the Pacific Northwest, Kevin graduated with a BA in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Gonzaga in Spokane, WA in 2010.
Katrina Wojtan joined ROCO Real Estate in the beginning of 2014 as Office Manager. In that capacity Katrina is responsible for handling, controlling, and maintaining a balanced process of work inside the office along with assisting in investor communications. Prior to joining ROCO, Katrina had over 5 years of experience as an office manager at an interior design studio and a medical office. A native of Michigan, Katrina is completing a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Fine Art from Wayne State University.
Christie Parker joined ROCO Real Estate in October of 2014 as the Controller. Christie is responsible for the federal and state income taxes for all ROCO entities. Prior to joining ROCO, Christie was a tax senior at Deloitte in the Private Wealth group. A Michigan native, Christie graduated with a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business in 2009 and a MS in Accounting from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad Graduate School of Management in 2010. She has also been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 2011.
Phillip Shane joined ROCO Real Estate in 2013 focusing on acquisitions and business development. Currently Phillip is the Director of Operations. In that capacity, Phillip is responsible for operation analysis, business development, strategic growth projects, and marketing. Prior to joining ROCO, Phillip managed daily operations at a Hotel and Conference center. A Michigan native, Phillip earned a BA in Economics focusing on Labor and Taxes at Michigan State University in 2014.
